"Touch is a language in itself — the first one we learn — and it has an intimate vocabulary, including both pain and pleasure." – Esther Perel
Conscious Touch is a holistic approach that combines somatic touch therapy, self-awareness work, and body-awareness techniques. In ÉT, conscious touch, the body’s wisdom, nonverbal communication, and inner work with symbols all play a central role. It is a deep yet gentle method that supports physical and emotional integration, reconnection with the body, rebuilding a sense of inner safety, and redefining one's relationship to touch and intimacy.
It helps process early experiences from the womb, birth, and pre-verbal stages of life. Through the conscious application of touch, we can access unconscious patterns, blocks, and resources stored in the body, creating the possibility for deeper transformation.
As a self-awareness method, Conscious Touch calls upon the wisdom of the body, the healing power of touch, and the silence of presence. Its primary aim is to create a safe space where you can experience a deeper connection with your body, your emotions, and your inner world.
It helps you align with a state of conscious freedom — where you can make choices and decisions from a place of clarity and autonomy.
Touch in this method is never random or mechanical. It is applied with full attention, respect, and intention. This creates a space where repressed emotions can surface and be integrated. Conscious Touch can assist in releasing emotional blocks caused by childhood touch deprivation or trauma. You are invited to notice how touch affects you and to attune more consciously to your body. Through this process, you may gain new sensory and awareness-based experiences of your body. You can learn to recognize and work with emotions and tensions stored within.
What Happens in the Body During This Process?
The body retains every experience — especially those that remain unprocessed. Emotional blocks can manifest in the muscles, nervous system, and tissues, often appearing as physical symptoms. Childhood rejection, fear, or abuse, for example, may be stored in tense shoulders or a clenched jaw. Conscious touch and mindful attention to bodily sensations help bring these stored experiences to the surface, allowing them to be acknowledged and gently released.
This is not a healing technique in the traditional sense, but a self-awareness method that supports you in understanding and integrating your physical and emotional processes.
What Happens During a Session?
The session begins with a conversation to help us find a shared focus — we explore what within you most wants to be seen, shifted, or given attention right now.
After that, you settle in comfortably, fully clothed, on a mat. You can take any position that feels good for you — everything is adapted to your needs. The space is warm and safe, with soft, quiet music playing in the background to support your deeper connection to your body and to yourself.
Throughout the process, you're held in a supportive space where you can always express your needs and make adjustments — whether it's about the touch, your position, or the pace. Everything happens to ensure you feel safe and respected. I accompany you through whatever arises, and at the end, we gently talk through your experience — so that everything can find its place.
